SEAT Concepto T From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search The SEAT Concepto T Coupé as well as the SEAT Concepto T Cabrio are prototypes developed by the Spanish car maker SEAT, aiming to show the company's potential - under Volkswagen Group's ownership - over focusing on the creation of coupé and convertible body style vehicles. Both may have been the basis of the SEAT Toledo Coupé and SEAT Toledo Cabriolet internal projects, that never made it to come into production. [edit] SEAT Concepto T Coupé The SEAT Concepto T Coupé is a prototype car of SEAT, introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1992. It is a 2+2 seats coupé car standing on the basis of the SEAT Toledo Mk1, designed in-house by the SEAT Prototypes Centre of Development in Spain. It was presented in the motorshow painted in yellow color, equipped with a 200 CV V6 engine, an adequate horsepower for a good coupé by that time. [edit] SEAT Concepto T Cabrio A year later in 1993, SEAT presented at the Barcelona Motor Show the SEAT Concepto T Cabrio, a soft top cabriolet in a reddish color, carrying some good lines for the time. The SEAT Concepto T Cabrio was equipped with the same 200 CV horsepower V6 engine, just like the SEAT Concepto T Coupé . With the Safe-T-Seat, the whole family can enjoy biking in a safe, happy and relaxed way. Photos: Pete Gibson September 2006 Hot hatches are regarded as ‘halo’ models by most makers. They pack a punch, are good to drive and look suitably aggressive – but the primary purpose of these cars is to add a bit of glamour to the range. However, this isn’t the case for SEAT. Take the last-generation Leon. The biggest seller wasn’t a diesel or a base petrol variant, but the performance FR – it accounted for 40 per cent of models registered. Even though SEAT is positioned on the sporty wing of the VW Group, this is still surprising, and shows the importance the Spanish firm attaches to performance variants of its cars. As before, there are two racy versions of the second-generation Leon: this 197bhp FR and, from January, a 238bhp Cupra. Typically for SEAT, a great-value price adds to the appeal, and the FR undercuts many rivals. But in this test, the five-door Leon faces our favourite hot hatch: the Ford Focus ST. Pricier, but more powerful and with proven pedigree, it’s the new hot SEAT’s toughest possible rival. View Ford Focus ST-2 2nd SEAT Leon SEAT's Leon FR is a performance bargain: cheap to buy and run, fast and well built View SEAT Leon - Advertisement - Sponsored Results Facts and Figures Open Table Verdict SEAT’S new Leon FR is a real performance bargain – fast, fun and well built. Not only does it cost considerably less to buy than the Focus ST, it’s also surprisingly affordable to run. Yet while the FR is well balanced and secure, it can’t provide the same thrills as the ST – which has an unbeatable blend of an involving drive, fun and refinement. The Ford offers communicative steering, more power and a tuneful five-cylinder engine, plus compliant suspension for greater ride comfort. So the Focus wins this test – although the FR comes very close, due to its bargain price. And don’t forget, SEAT’s hot Leon Cupra is still to come, giving SEAT another chance to test the ST’s mettle. - Advertisement - Company Website | Media Information | Contact Us | Privacy Notice | Subs Info | Voucher Codes | SitemapOur Other Websites: The First Post | Custom PC | Evo | IT Pro | IT Pro India | MacUser | Men's Fitness | Micro Mart | PC Pro | bit-tech | Know Your Mobile | Octane | Expert Reviews | Channel Pro | Know Your Cell | Know Your Mobile India | iGizmo | Digital SLR Photography | Den of Geek | The Week | Computer Shopper | Dennis Communications | Magazines | Mobile Phone Deals | Competitions | Health & Fitness | CarBuyer © 2010 Dennis Publishing Limited.
